Note on Husband: Michael John COUNTER
He was a Sergeant in the RAF Volunteer Force Sqdn 21 (Service No. 1162807) serving as an Observer in a Blenheim plane. In 1941 they were sent on a flight to test fuel consumption prior to being sent to N Africa. The pilot took a detour over a girlfriend's house, and crashed the plane killing all three crew members.
